Everyone deserves great sourdough. With coeliacs in our own family, we set out to create a gluten free starter that delivers the flavour, aroma and satisfaction of traditional artisan sourdough, without the gluten.
Lovingly adapted from our 150-year-old heritage sourdough culture, this starter is nurtured using premium organic brown rice flour before being carefully dehydrated to preserve its living culture.
Every batch is independently tested to ensure it is gluten free. For people with coeliac disease, that means no detectable gluten, so you can bake with confidence.
Simply add water to bring your starter back to life. With a little warmth and patience, you’ll have a healthy, active culture ready to become your lifelong baking companion.
For the best results, we recommend feeding your starter with our Gluten Free Flour Range, developed in partnership with Wild Sourdough, or with organic brown rice flour. While other gluten free flours may work, their ingredients and hydration characteristics vary considerably, so we can’t guarantee the same performance.
If you’ve been disappointed by dense, flavourless gluten free breads, you’re in for a pleasant surprise. This is genuine sourdough fermentation, crafted specifically for gluten free baking.

📦 Where do you ship from?
We ship all orders from our home base in Port Macquarie to the rest of Australia.
🚚 How long does shipping take?
Standard delivery within Australia usually takes 2–8 business days. Rural areas may take a little longer, up to 15 days. You’ll receive tracking info once your order is dispatched.
🚚 How well do the live starters travel?
We routinely post our live starters from NSW to remote WA and the NT and have not encountered any issues with activity upon feeding after arriving at their new home.
🌍 Do you ship internationally?
We only ship within Australia.
💸 How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your location and order size. We offer free shipping on orders over $120 AUD however, if your order is heavy, we sometimes ask for shipping fees.
📬 When will my order be sent?
Orders are typically packed and shipped within 12-48 hrs after payment. You'll get an email with tracking as soon as it's on its way.

Please double-check your shipping address at checkout. We are not responsible for lost or delayed packages due to incorrect address details. If we receive a returned item for in incorrect address we can either refund or reship the item to you.
